      Job Summary:

      The Mechanical Analysis and Test Department is responsible for ensuring the structural integrity and positive thermal margin of all Raytheon Products. From the preliminary concept to fielded weapon support, A&T delivers innovative and robust structural and thermal analysis solutions utilizing methods ranging from classical fundamental & proprietary empirically based techniques to state-of-the-art finite element methods and commercial computer codes; all complimented and validated by tests executed in a manner to ensure cost effective yet technically balanced solutions.

      As an intern in the Analysis and Test Department, you will be working one on one with a senior analyst, tackling structural and thermal analysis tasks that will give you a great hands-on learning experience. You will be responsible for performing the analyses/tests, getting the results peer-reviewed, and documenting the results in a report.

      You will finish your internship with the satisfaction of knowing you contributed to the success of the Analysis and Test Department, as well as Raytheon in general!

      This position is a hybrid role, and the selected applicant will work with the hiring manager to set schedule.

      Responsibilities to Anticipate:

      • Perform Hand Calculations to determine scope of higher detail analysis models
      • Perform detailed analysis to solve diverse program thermal challenges
      • Perform peer reviews of all analysis to validate process and results
      • Document results according to Raytheon standards
      • Deliver results to customers

      This position can be a technical intern based on the candidate's classification as determined by grad year on resume and provided via questionnaire by candidate as outlined below:

      • (Junior Technical) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program
      • (Senior Technical) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program
      • (Post-Graduate Technical) must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications) by start of internship

      Basic Qualifications:

      • Must be Junior, Senior or Post Graduate by the start of summer 2024 in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
      • Experience with engineering Finite Element Analysis tools and software such as ANSYS Workbench, Patran, Nastran and Thermal Desktop or equivalent to
      • Experience with problem solving using data-driven approaches
      • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
      • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. 3.0 cumulative GPA desired
      • Demonstrated experience working effectively with coworkers from diverse communities, cultures, work experience and conflict resolution styles
      • Experience with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, Outlook
      • Experience utilizing CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools such as CREO.
      • Hands on experience through academic or industry exposure

      • Remote : Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
