      Qualifications

      KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

      Education & Experience Level:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field; or,
      • Has significant prior warehouse experience; or,
      • Possesses superior supervisory skills with a minimum of 2-4 years’ experience as a Manager/Supervisor, and with demonstrated levels of achievement.

      • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, particularly reading, understanding and manipulating cost and performance data in reports as needed.
      • Ability to influence and encourage change in people and the operation.

      PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

      • Temperatures in the warehouse may vary between -20º to in excess of 80ºF, depending on work area and facility. Noise levels are within acceptable tolerance ranges for the specific work area.
      • Exposure to potential hazards exists including to machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, the movement of tractors and trailers, etc.
      • Incumbent may alternate between supervisory responsibilities moving throughout the warehouse by sitting for periods of time at a desk or computer terminal, planning and monitoring performance.
      • Intermittent operation of machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and mechanized systems may be required depending on work location.
      • Walking, standing, bending, twisting, stooping and lifting is required.
      • Use of telephones, keyboards, calculators, and other office equipment is required throughout the workday.
      • Limited travel is required as needed for training, meetings and to support other warehouse operations.

      Responsibilities

      POSITION PURPOSE:

      Supervises assigned area of warehouse operations in compliance with Company policies, guidelines and government regulations. Delivers superior store service, through ensuring the timely, safe and accurate handling of inbound and outbound product for delivery.

      KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

      • Successfully plans warehouse operations for assigned area based on the needs of the business by optimizing shipping, receiving, and delivery of store orders, minimizing perishability and monitoring product stock rotation requirements.
      • Schedules warehouse associates to achieve retail customer service objectives.
      • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing to direct, coach, train, discipline (as needed) and lead warehouse associates to achieve optimal accuracy and productivity.
      • Monitors workflow through routine spot checks on progress of associates and adjusts staffing and schedules as needed to increase efficiency, to the extent permitted by location.
      • Inspects warehouse throughout the workday to identify and eliminate safety hazards and workflow impediments, verify the security of the building, compliance with sanitation and pest control standards, and the operational safety of warehouse personnel.
      • Manages inventory to maintain in-stock conditions and service levels.
      • Conducts productive crew meetings to discuss safety, productivity, and accuracy.
      • Accurately records, maintains, and reports metrics in a timely manner, including those regarding production and accuracy of personnel, utilizing Company devices and systems.
      • Effectively collaborates with store and warehouse personnel, Procurement, Transportation, Vendors, Inventory Control, and related internal and external contacts to resourcefully meet business objectives.
      • Identifies operational opportunities and makes recommendations to drive continuous improvement.
      • Makes recommendations on hiring and staffing, promoting the Company’s Diversity initiatives operationally.
      • Assists in investigations as needed.
      • Performs other management duties as requested, including special projects.
      • Performs all assignments with highest integrity.
