Foundation for the Iowa City Community School District, Business Director The Foundation for the Iowa City Community School District is seeking a friendly and experienced Business Director to oversee the financial and operational aspects of our organization. As the Business Director, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to connect the community with our schools to ensure every student has extraordinary learning experiences in the Iowa City Community School District. Our office works side by side with the Iowa City Community School District to provide creative and innovative student programs including School of the Wild and Any Given Child fine arts experiences. We fund a wide range of grants to our District to advance opportunities for all students. Work Relationships: This position reports to the Foundation’s Executive Director and interacts regularly with ICCSD staff, donors, and the Foundation Board of Directors. Core Responsibilities (include but are not limited to:) Financial Management: Manage the financial day-to-day operations of the Foundation, including budgeting, bank deposits, and timely donor communications. Work with the third-party Accountant for monthly account reconciliation. Donor Database Management: Maintain and optimize the donor database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of donor information, contributions, and interactions. Prepare and present donor records, reports, and mailing lists. Grant and Gift Tracking: Track grant timelines, expenses, and corporate invoicing Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, community partners, school district staff, and board members. Frequently involved in cultivation and stewardship of donors. Best practices: Partner with the Executive Director on administrative and operational processes, with a goal of continuously improving systems. Preferred Education and Professional Experience: The ideal candidate has experience keeping track of financial functions for an organization (QuickBooks or FastFund knowledge preferred). Knowledge of fundraising/donor database software (DonorPerfect or similar) experience is preferred. Demonstrated organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail required. Salary and Benefits: This is currently a 32-hr week position with flexible hours and generous paid leave. Salary range depends on prior professional experience. Benefits include an employer matched 401K, medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and disability insurance. The Foundation follows ICCSD holidays and closures. About the ICCSD: The Iowa City Community School District serves over 14,000 students and is the 4th largest school district in the state of Iowa. The District covers roughly 133 square miles with 17 preschool sites, 21 elementary schools, 3 junior high schools, 3 comprehensive high schools, 1 alternative high school, 1 online school, and our Transition Services Center, a program for special education students ages 18-21.
