Job Description
- Req#: REF285R
- Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material
- Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with fixtures or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
- Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade
- Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
- Weld separately or in combination
- Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, etc. to move raw material and parts as needed
- Able to lift up to 50lbs
- Perform other duties as required or assigned by supervisor
- Follow all OSHA and internal safety standards
- Must be flexible and willing to run Laser, Press Brake and other fabrication equipment.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- 1 year minimum verifiable welding experience and/or Technical Diploma
- Must have experience Mig welding Steel
- Ability to perform standard shop computations (math)
- Ability to read schematics (blue prints) and engineering drawings
- Ability to perform basic maintenance of equipment
- Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments as well as work within a team environment
- Experience working on a variety of metals is a plus
