What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students
- Develop lesson plans and instructional material to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil
- Deliver curriculum using adopted textbooks and translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences
- Communicate regularly with parents outside of the classroom day through newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.
- Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, maintain records, and prepare progress reports
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree and a valid K-8 New Mexico Teaching License
- Demonstrated general knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents
- Ability to follow specific instructions and manage student behavior
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- At least one year's previous teaching experience
