      POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision provides support to assigned school with the effective and efficient operation within various functions (guidance, registrar, etc.); performs and coordinate varied and responsible clerical services. Acts as a liaison with internal and external contacts (parents, community, etc.) within the district. This position reports to the Principal. KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Registers and enrolls all new students and requests records from other schools. Consults with administration to devise registration schedules and procedures. Exchanges student information with other schools, and enters and maintains student data into automated databases. Registers and enrolls all new students. Provides enrollment services as related to Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) and the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. Prepares registration packets, meets with parents and registers students for school. Inputs and updates student information into the computer to compile student records and current immunization records. Maintains a professional atmosphere in the main office; greets and assists staff, students, and visitors; answers questions for staff, parents, students, and others. Answers the telephone; takes messages; provides information and assistance to district personnel and the public; relays calls to appropriate personnel. Operates a computer to enter, retrieve, review, or modify data; utilizes word processing, database, and software programs. Operates a variety of machinery, equipment, and tools associated with department activities, which may include a typewriter, postage machine, or fax. All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services. KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED required. Experience working in an office setting performing administrative duties. Makes administrative decisions which affect internal operations of the department as well as the operations of the schools and the District. Light independent judgment is necessary. Decisions made on an as-needed basis to establish operation of the office. Requires regular contact with internal and external personnel within school. Applies, recommends and implements technology knowledge (spreadsheets, word processing, and database management) concepts to improve the effectiveness of the Department. Normal office setting Light duty - On most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. NOTE: This is a grade 17, 195 day position.
