Program Overview: This 12-week (or more) comprehensive internship program will provide in-depth experience in the business of fun and thrills. During the first half, interns will have the opportunity to gain valuable business experience by rotating through various in-park departments here at Six Flags America. Whether cooking up delicious treats or taking riders up 200+ feet, you will have an opportunity to make a difference for the Guests while gaining unique educational experience to further you in your career. In the second half of the program, Interns will have the opportunity to gain deeper business knowledge in a specific department by interviewing for placement in one of the departments from the first half of the program. Selected interns will focus on developing leadership skills and business knowledge while working alongside leadership in determined department at the park.
Special Duties and Responsibilities
· Attend sessions and seminars held by various departments at the park within our In-Park Services, Operations, Marketing, HR and more.
· Gain experience in a 360-degree view of the business through various department lenses. Then, get the chance to interview for leadership positions with deeper access to department heads, opportunities to oversee Team Members, provide leadership, training and more.
· Complete a group project where you and other interns will work identify a business opportunity, create a solution and present directly to Park Management.
· Complete Leadership Development classes and coursework as available.
· The intern will support the successful daily operation of various departments at Six Flags America.
· Ideal candidate possesses excellent guest service and communication skills while working in a demanding, ever changing environment.
· Other duties as assigned
General Requirements
· Must be at least 18 years of age
· Must be currently enrolled in an accredited 2 or 4-year college or university
· Must have generally open available from May 22 to August 13, 2023
· Willing to interact with guests
· Set high standards of performance for all areas within their responsibilities
· Comply with Six Flags handbook policies at all times
· Maintain proper attendance and timeliness
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Demonstrated ability to accomplish goals through motivation and delegation with limited supervision
· Due to the high volume of applicants each year, housing and transportation cannot be provided.
· Good organizational skills, creative, outgoing, detail oriented, and self-motivator
· Required to work various shifts as project and park needs dictate, including nights, weekends and holidays
· Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to drive park vehicles on & off property
· Comfortable working in a mixed office/outside in the park environment. Must have the ability to stand, walk, crouch, bend, stoop, kneel and lift up to forty pounds.
