- Training, certification and/or experience in quantity food preparation, food storage, and food safety and sanitation
- City of Mission Food Handler Certification required
- Ability to occasionally and correctly lift and carry 45 pounds without assistance
- Willingness to accept any building assigned and to transfer as needed to meet the needs of the program
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks daily without instruction
- Satisfactory score on CNP Cook/Server’s Test
- Reports at assigned time.
- Performs duties as described on the daily work schedule.
- Works after or before assigned hours, including Saturdays as needed to prepare and serve meals for students.
- Maintains proper hygiene.
- Wears proper uniform and shoes daily.
- Provides own transportation for travel as assigned.
- Travels and substitutes in any building either by private vehicle or by CNP truck driver as needed.
- Completes assignments as directed by the Cafeteria Manager, CNP Director, CNP Specialist or CNP Dietician.
- Assists other cafeteria personnel in preparing and serving safe, nutritious and appealing meals daily.
- Works in all areas of food preparation such as, but not limited to: cook/server, baker, snack bar cook, salad preparation, dishwasher, special diets, inventory, table cleaning, trash pick-up, mopping, sweeping, kitchen clean up, etc. following the HACCP Plan.
- Responsible for following proper food preparation procedures according to the HACCP Plan.
- Prepares and serves food according to menu and production record instructions.
- Keeps food properly stored and at safe temperatures as described by the CNP HACCP Plan.
- Assists with perpetual inventory as assigned by the Cafeteria Manager.
- Accepts any food delivery as assigned by the Cafeteria Manager.
- Assists with any clean up related to the preparation and service of meals daily.
- Properly labels, records, stores/disposes of any unused or left-over food and reports to Manager for production record.
- Prepares any daily reports as may be necessary for accountability.
- Uses safety precautions with the use and handling of all kitchen equipment.
- Follows proper safety procedures and follows safety regulations in the performance of duties; and reports accidents immediately.
- Reports any equipment malfunction or unsafe condition of equipment to the Cafeteria Manager.
- Keeps work area and equipment used for preparation clean and orderly.
- Respects federally funded food, equipment and supplies according to USDA, TEA and TDA guidelines.
- Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or others.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Superintendent, CNP Director or CNP Specialist.
