- Substitute Training Certificate and/or valid Teaching Certificate, required
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to speak, write and read in English up to 12th grade level
- Some experience working with children
- Adhere to the curriculum and lesson plans assigned by the teacher.
- Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
- Help supervise students throughout school day inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
- Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual’s student.
- Maintain neat and orderly classroom.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or others.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Constant walking, standing, and movement to ensure safety and well-being of students in large open areas such as playgrounds, gyms, football fields, shop areas, etc.
- Physical activity, modeling, and directing instruction in front of large group setting of students in order to define/model expected and appropriate behaviors
- Lifting, carrying, or pulling of instructional equipment such as balls, instruments, cases, tools, etc. which are necessary to the instructional delivery of the lesson
- Exposure to various climate settings and temperatures relative to classroom instruction within/outside school building/facility

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assist in preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements.

Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move text books and classroom equipment
Environment: Work inside, may work outside; regular exposure to noise
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours
