      Job Description:

      Participants can expect:

      • 9 week paid internship aimed at aligning personal talents with business initiatives
      • Challenging and impactful work assignments that support Discover’s strategic priorities and objectives
      • Opportunities to work alongside experienced data science and analytics managers and contribute to challenging and meaningful assignments across Discover, ranging from marketing, credit risk management, fraud mitigation, AML/BSA, customer service and infrastructure development, etc
      • Develop cross-functional industry and market knowledge, along with technical and leadership skills
      • Receive ongoing feedback and coaching from project leads, performance managers, and a dedicated program management team
      • Interaction with the key stakeholders and senior leadership through both projects and program events
      • Enhance your abilities to lead projects, make decisions, problem solve and think creatively
      • Group activities, including networking events and volunteer activities
      • Opportunities to establish lasting career connections with fellow interns
      • Explore various career pathways in analytics, modeling, and data engineering

      Basic Qualifications:

      • Currently enrolled in an accredited 4-year college or university, pursuing a Bachelor’s in computer science, analytics, technology, engineering, math, economics or related field.
      • Must have a graduation date between December 2024 - June 2025
      • A minimum of a 3.0 GPA on 4.0 grade point average scale, in major field of study
      • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Ability in learning and improving programming skills for business analysis, strong programming (SQL, Python) skills is a plus
      • Demonstrated project management skills, including ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and follow through on completion of projects
      • Strong interest in using data for business insight, experience in modeling is a plus
      • Strong desire of learning and willingness to acquire needed knowledge and skills
      • Positive attitude, willingness to collaborate, strong work ethic, and demonstrated personal initiative

      Compensation:

      The base pay for this role is 41.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
