      The Intern gains experience and an overall feel for the company and the financial services industry by attending meetings, delivering presentations, exploring business-specific tasks, and working closely with cross-functional groups to better understand the organization. Over the 10-week summer internship program, this job participates in a robust training and onboarding program followed by an ongoing speaker series, lunch-and-learns, and cohort engagement activities. This job may have the opportunity to work in the follow business areas: Technology, Asset Management, Financial Analysis/Accounting, Audit, Risk and Compliance, Human Resources and Advice and Client Relationships.

      Key Responsibilities and Duties
      • Performs clerical duties such as taking memos, organizing documents, maintaining files, photocopying, faxing, etc. as needed
      • Assists in preparing information and research materials, including Powerpoint presentations.
      • Takes notes during meetings and provides to team members.
      • Researches and gathers documentation as directed by colleagues.
      • Attends company functions, including trainings programs, speaker series, lunch-and-learns and social networking events that provide opportunities for career growth and personal development.
      • Shadows multiple office jobs and trains in a variety of tasks.
      • Gains experience and an overall feel for the company and the financial services industry

      POSITION SUMMARY:

      Summer interns will work on an exciting mix of strategically-aligned challenging assignments and projects that help drive the achievement of the organization's strategy and mission. Managers and colleagues will work side by side with summer interns to ensure development and learning. Candidates can expect to gain an understanding of TIAA and the Financial Services industry, as well as have opportunities to explore various aspects of our client facing business. Successful summer interns will have the opportunity to apply for a full-time position in the highly competitive Retirement & Wealth Rotational Program.

      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Interns will have the opportunity to utilize their classroom learning in the workplace, as well as various opportunities to learn new skills. Interns will be assigned developmental roles in an area of Retirement Solutions & Wealth Management, such as Institutional Relationship Management, TIAA Recordkeeping Solutions & Chief Administrative Office, Retirement Sales Enablement, TIAA Retirement Advice & Consulting, Chief Operating Office, and Wealth Distribution depending on business need and alignment with the candidates' skills and interests.

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Full-time student, current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program of study (specialization in finance, marketing, business administration, economics, or a business related field preferred)

      • Graduation date between December 2024 and May 2026

      PREFERRED SKILLS: (Preferred not required):

      • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and high emotional intelligence

      • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 or better

      • Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion

      • Resourceful in performing research on the internet and through other channels

      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

      • Previous customer service/client facing experience or communications experience stemming from classes, internships, or work experience

      Base Pay Range: $18.75/hr. - $27.40/hr.

      Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
