  ABOUT HOLLYWOOD PARK

  Hollywood Park, a near 300-acre sports and entertainment destination, is being developed by Los Angeles Rams Owner/Chairman E. Stanley Kroenke with the 70,000-seat SoFi Stadium as its centerpiece. Hollywood Park is the largest urban mixed-use mega development under construction in the Western United States. When complete, Hollywood Park will have up to 2,500 residences, a hotel, a retail district reaching up to 890,000 square feet, up to 5 million square feet of office space, and more than 25-acres of public parks and open space.

  Home to the Los Angeles Chargers and Super Bowl LVI Champion Los Angeles Rams, SoFi Stadium is the host of world-renowned sporting events, including Super Bowl LVI in 2022, College Football Playoff National Championship game 2023, WrestleMania 2023, World Cup 2026, and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Olympics in 2028. Adjacent to the stadium and under the same roof canopy is a 2.5-acre open-air plaza, American Airlines Plaza, and the 6,000-seat YouTube Theater. YouTube Theater is an intimate venue, making it the perfect place for concerts, comedy, awards shows, esports competitions, community gatherings, conferences and more.

  THE INTERNSHIP

  At Hollywood Park, our primary objective for this internship program is to foster emerging talent while developing future leaders of the sports and entertainment industry. This is a paid opportunity for undergraduate juniors, seniors, and recent graduates who share our passion for creating extraordinary experiences. Interns will work with specific departments at our offices in Inglewood, CA and immerse themselves in a behind-the-scenes experience. By participating in this program, individuals will gain knowledge of the business, establish meaningful connections, and explore exciting career opportunities.

  Hollywood Park is in search of a highly motivated, organized, and enthusiastic individual who is interested in working within the heart of the sports and entertainment industry. As a Finance and Accounting Intern, you can expect to work hand in hand with our Finance and Accounting team, participate in all accounting operations, meet various members of Company management as well as gain valuable, real-world experience in the sports and entertainment industry. Interns will gain firsthand experience in areas such as Event Settlement, Revenue Recognition, and Real Estate Accounting.

  RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the preparation of annual audits, contributing to the gathering of necessary financial information and documentation
  • Execute basic accounting journal entries and data entry tasks to contribute to the accuracy and completeness of financial records
  • Aid in the preparation of Event P&Ls at both SoFi Stadium and YouTube theater
  • Work collaboratively with the accounting team to ensure smooth operations and effective support during busy periods
  • Aid the team during audit season to enhance overall efficiency

  LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Gain practical, hands-on experience by applying accounting principles and industry knowledge in real-world scenarios
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of accounting functions, with a focus on the practical application of knowledge to support business operations.
  • Attain proficiency in various journal entries related to events, sponsorships, suites, etc., becoming adept at explaining the accounting processes associated with each entry.
  • Enhance collaborative skills by working effectively with team members, understanding the importance of teamwork in achieving departmental goals
  • Achieve the ability to understand and perform journal entries with minimal guidance, showcasing independence and confidence in executing accounting tasks
  • Comprehend the broader impact of accounting activities on the business, recognizing how accurate financial records contribute to informed decision-making

  HOURS & DURATION

  • Part-time (25 to 30 hours per week); must be available to work at events, many of which occur on weekends and evenings, as directed by their immediate supervisors
  • Term: June 25 to December 17, 2024

  WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM PEOPLE WHO…

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program as a junior, senior, or recently graduated
  • Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar area of study
  • Must be able to travel to the YouTube Theater and SoFi Stadium offices in Inglewood, CA at least 2/week
  • Candidates with the following skill sets will be given special considerations:
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task within a fast paced environment
  • Strong attention to Detail

  Salary Range: $19-$20/hour

  In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Act, compensation information provided is a good faith estimate for this position only. Hollywood Park considers a candidate’s education, certification, prior experience, as well as internal and external data when determining the salary level for potential new employees. Only in exceptional circumstances, if an external candidate has the experience, credentials, or expertise far exceeding what is expected for the position, would Hollywood Park consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
