      Summary:

      Founded in 1909, the NAACP is the nation's oldest and largest civil rights organization. The NAACP Empowerment Programs, Inc. (“NAACP EPI”), the 501c(3) programs arm of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (“NAACP”), a nonprofit, membership-based, civil rights advocacy organization, seeks a well-rounded and ambitious intern.

      The NAACP Hollywood Bureau Summer Internship Program is ten (10) week paid internship program for undergraduate, who will work five (5) days a week with Hollywood Bureau staff and will assist with the planning and managing of Bureau events for the Annual Convention.

      The internship program is in person in Los Angeles, CA from May 28th through August 2nd , 2024. Travel to and from Los Angeles and housing while in Los Angeles is the responsibility of the intern. Travel to and from Las Vegas, NV and housing for the Annual Convention will be provided by the NAACP.

      SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

      Reporting to the Senior Program Manager for Special Projects, responsibilities of the NAACP Hollywood Bureau/FedEx Summer Production Intern include, but are not limited to, the following:

      • Assist NHB production team with ongoing projects that may include video packages, audio recordings or online content.
      • Attend meetings as assigned.
      • Assist in development and production of Hollywood Bureau Convention events.
      • Administrative and research duties.
      • Help prepare event documents including event decks and production schedules.
      • Perform other duties as deemed necessary.

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      The ideal candidate for this position will possess many, if not all, of the following professional qualifications, competencies and personal qualities:

      • Is currently enrolled in an accredited university/college program.
      • Must be 18 years of age.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence in pitching creative ideas and trouble- shooting solutions.
      • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
      • Ability to prioritize assignments and demonstrate a high degree of initiative.
      • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
      • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge SharePoint.
      • Working knowledge of social media and creative design software or programs i.e. Canva, Adobe, etc.
