Associate Role
Associates at Harris Williams play an integral role in all the firm’s merger and acquisition advisory activities. Associates learn the deal process through live transaction work alongside seasoned banking professionals and are active contributors during every phase of the deal process. As an Associate, you have a high level of exposure to clients, represent the firm throughout the entire deal process, and cultivate a well-rounded skillset as an M&A expert.
Harris Williams seeks Associate talent to support continued firm growth and deal flow across our Richmond, San Francisco, Boston and Minneapolis offices. In Richmond, first year Associates work with a variety of industry verticals during their first six months before dedicating to an industry group. First year Associates recruiting for our Boston, Minneapolis or San Francisco offices will recruit for and join one of our 10 industry groups directly, which include:

Training & Development
New first year Analysts and Associates convene in Richmond for a robust training program designed to integrate you into our culture, provide thorough knowledge of the M&A process, and prepare you to hit the ground running. The HW training program includes a week of valuation and modeling training with Wall Street Prep, followed by internally led training sessions detailing each key aspect of a sell-side M&A transaction. This is just the beginning of an extensive learning experience at Harris Williams.

Mentorship – both formal and organic – is critical to our people’s success. All Associates are assigned mentors who serve as your “go to” resource and help acclimate you to the role. This role has compensation of $175,000 and is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and individual performance.
