      **Registered Nurses New Graduates 2024** Join Southwestern Vermont Medical Center's New Grad transition to practice program and gain the skills, knowledge and confidence you need to be a successful RN!

      Accepting applications! Areas available include Medical Surgical/Telemetry, ER, ICU and Women's and Children's

      Our graduate accredited residency program is twelve months long. It is designed for nurses with less than one year of relevant experience. The program begins with a combination of classroom time and shifts with a preceptor on your unit. During the year, RN residents participate in monthly professional development seminars and transition into SVMC's RN mentorship program. There is also flexibility for shadow opportunities in other clinical areas. SVMC support the Nurses of tomorrow.

      SVMC is currently offering a sign on retention bonus **$5,000.00** one year commitment or $10,000.00 for 2 year commitment (That's $1,250.00 every 3 months for 24 months!) Shift differential includes from 7p-11p $1.50 per hour and from 11p-7a $7.00 per hour, weekends include $2.00 more per hour!

      SVMC has also launched a Loan Forgiveness Program:

      1. SVMC agrees to provide financial assistance to the Employee for six (6) consecutive years following the date of hire for the limited purpose of paying down the Employee’s qualified student loan(s) as follows:
        1. Within thirty (30) days following each full year of full-time employment (not less than 36 hours per week) in good standing, SVMC shall deliver payment to the Employee of an amount equal to one-sixth of the Employee’s outstanding qualified student loans up to a maximum annual amount of $10,000. Payments shall be subject to required withholdings.
        2. The maximum financial assistance offered to the Employee under this Agreement shall not exceed $60,000, prior to required withholdings.

        Requirements:

      • Graduation from Accredited School of Nursing
      • Ability to obtain a valid Vermont Nursing License by date of employment
      • Health Care Provider BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
