Within our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. That means we’re continually seeking diligent, determined performers who think outside the box to help us find better and more efficient ways to manufacture our vehicles.

      Qualifications

      The minimum requirements we seek:

      • Must be at least a college/university level junior seeking a Bachelor of Science degree in occupational safety, ergonomics, or industrial hygiene
      • Graduating and available for fulltime employment by September 2025
      • College/University must be ANSAC/ABET accredited
      • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
      • Ability to work on site at either Michigan Assembly Plant or Kentucky Truck Plant on a daily basis for the duration of the internship. Relocation is not provided.
      • Understanding of relevant external safety standards such as OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, etc.
      • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office
      • Oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team setting

      Responsibilities

      What you’ll be able to do:

      You will have the opportunity to lead a viable project assigned to you by your people leader (supervisor) that could include:

      • Work with a collaborative, cross-functional team
      • Develop a project plan to ensure your people leader stays informed of your progress
      • Research and develop at least one single point lesson (safety talk) on a relevant topic for the facility
      • Develop and present a professional presentation to the facility’s leadership
      • Inspect, evaluate, and communicate workplace conditions and behaviors
      • Review and update at least one standard relevant to the facility
      • Conduct hazard assessments and risk assessments
      • Participate in incident investigations
      • Job shadow with a safety engineer and/or a union health and safety representative on daily tasks
      • Perform safety related clerical assignments
      • Learning technical skills related to the automotive industry
