      Job Summary

      The Cyber/IT Data Insight Risk Analyst intern will support Cyber Technology Risk centre of governance team within the Group Risk Management Operational Risk team by performing quantitative risk data analysis to provide insights and identify thematic trends. The Cyber/IT Data Insight Risk Analyst intern will take complex information related to Cyber/ IT risk and communicate it clearly, concisely, and accurately without relying on technical or corporate jargon.

      Job Description

      What will you do?

      • Extract and prepare data for ad-hoc analysis, reporting and conduct trend analysis of enterprise cyber and technology risks.
      • Create and track documentation for data quality cyber/IT risk sampling strategies, reporting, and analysis.
      • Coordinate, monitor, and track follow up actions to support sampling/assessment activities.
      • Perform ad-hoc analysis of key risk management topics to support oversight and challenge activities.
      • Use business domain knowledge to independently lead the analytics process to identify valuable and innovative insights.
      • Support the Cyber/IT Risk Appetite measurement and reporting team, by providing back testing (impact analysis) when metrics are changed, data quality review and support the continuous monitoring of cyber and technology metrics.

      What do you need to succeed?

      Must-have

      • Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, machine learning
      • Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment
      • Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
      • Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced environment
      • Ability to data extract, transform, and load processes with a variety of data types
      • Ability to perform complex data analysis on large volumes of data and present findings to stakeholders
      • Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel (creating pivot tables, formulas, and macros) and PowerPoint
      • Excellent time management skills
      • Good Understanding of technology

      Nice-to-have

      • Good Knowledge of risk management, key risk indicators and metrics
      • Advanced analytics and experience in tools such as Power BI, Python, R, Tableau, SQL
      • Ability to learn and absorb new concepts (in business and in systems) quickly and apply new knowledge

      Please note: This posting is for a 8-months Summer 2024 Student placement with a start date of May 2024, and end date of December 2024. In order to be eligible for this 8-months Student position, you must either:

      • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of December 2024 ; or
      • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in December 2024), you must require the full 8-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
