Apply protein engineering principles to design and characterize therapeutic antibodies and new antibody formats
Independently conduct hands-on laboratory research, analyze/interpret data to guide project decisions, and work collaboratively with cross-functional team members
Present orally at the end of the internship: the goal, experimental design, results and conclusion of the project
Intensive 12-weeks, full time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
Program start dates are in May/June (Summer) 2024
A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.
Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree
Must be pursuing a Master’s or PhD
Candidates who are part of GEM/Meyerhoff programs are preferred.
Technical lab-based skills, including molecular biology, biochemistry, protein engineering, and/or cell biology
Detail-oriented and self-directed individual excited about tackling creative scientific challenges in a cross-functional and collaborative environment
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Department Summary
The Antibody Engineering department’s mission is to discover therapeutic antibodies and engineer next-generation biotherapeutic formats to address unmet clinical needs. We have an opportunity for a talented and highly motivated intern to join our efforts and creatively apply protein engineering and biochemistry principles to drive our mission.
This internship position is located in South San Francisco, and is an on-site laboratory research position.

Required Majors: Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Biology, Biophysics, Structural Biology, Chemical Biology, or related disciplines.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position in California is $33.00 - $45.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
