Reviewing existing knowledge management systems within the individual groups that form the Computational Catalyst.
Understanding the best practices and evaluating best fit for purpose tools for knowledge management.
Proposing a solution to streamline the knowledge management process across all groups.
Initiating a pilot system where a certain legacy group's knowledge is transferred into the proposed knowledge management system.
Assessing the search performance and findability of data, processes, and workflows in the new system.
Intensive 12-weeks, full time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
Program start date is in May/June (prefer June) 2024.
A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
Opportunity to lead a strategic initiative and implement a pilot project with significant potential to enhance information accessibility across teams.
Work with some of the most talented people in a variety of expert fields.
Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's Degree or PhD focused in the following areas: Information Science, Library Science, Business Administration, Data Science, or related fields with a strong interest in knowledge management.
Undergraduates who have completed at least two years of undergraduate coursework at an accredited college / university
Information Science, Library Science, Business Administration, Data Science, or related fields with a strong interest in knowledge management.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with knowledge management tools such as GitHub, Confluence, gDrive, etc. would be a plus.

Department Summary
The newly formed Computational Catalyst team is a consolidation of various research groups, each holding a wealth of knowledge in their respective fields of expertise. Our goal is to establish an organized system to access and manage this collective knowledge. The intern joining this team will play a pivotal role in reviewing current knowledge management systems, identifying best practices and recommending the best fit for purpose tools such as GitHub and Confluence. By initiating a pilot to implement this system into a target legacy group, the intern will help us assess the search performance and findability of data, processes, and workflows.
This internship position is located in South San Francisco, CA (On site).

The expected salary range for this position, based on the primary location for this position in California, is $45.00 - $50.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time-off benefits.
