Learn the skills and specific activities related to project management by engaging with customers and cross functional departments. Apply these skills to improve business processes for CPMF’s Process Monitoring program.
Apply project management principles to design a meeting format/agenda for the Process Monitoring Review Board
Learn and apply cGMP principles.
Gain an understanding of what information is pertinent to being a Drug Product Process Engineer and apply that knowledge to support assessments of process performance.
Learn what information is important to report and understand in the Process Monitoring procedure including Critical Quality Attributes, Key Performance Indicators, Critical Process Parameters, and statistical trend analysis.
Work with data management software and its support team to support Process Monitoring and improve work processes.
Please note that this internship is a 12 week position. Candidates must be able to work on-site full-time (40 hours/week).
Program start dates are in May/Jun 2023.
Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.
Final presentations of project work to senior leaders.
Lead or participate in intern committees to design and coordinate program events and initiatives.
Professional & personal development curriculum throughout the program, including networking opportunities, workshops, and panel discussions.
Participate in volunteer projects, social events, and team-building activities.
Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student)
Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree
Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student)Applicable majors: in the field of engineering, science, or equivalent.
Demonstrated proficiency in the application of basic engineering and/or scientific theories, principles and techniques.
Strong strategic thinker (required)
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (required)
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills (required)
Ability to work in an agile and ambiguous environment
Commitment to quality
Growth mindset

2024 Summer Intern - Process MSAT
Department Summary
Drug Product Process Engineers in the Process Manufacturing Science and Technology team perform engineering activities that support drug product filling production at the Common Parenteral Manufacturing Facility (CPMF). These activities include the following:
- Assisting with trouble shooting problems during production
- Facilitating product transfers between sites
- Support of internal and external audits/inspections of the drug product facility
- Improving processes to align with global standards / to reduce cost or complexity
- Perform periodic process monitoring, regular quality monitoring to ensure integral production practices and processes
This internship position is located in South San Francisco, CA - onsite.

Who You Are
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of California is $24.00 - $38.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
