      Energetics - CLEAResult Energy Sustainability Consulting provides a full spectrum of clean energy consulting services to public and private sector clients. The Energetics team works with lead investors, innovators, and stakeholders to inform and expedite the development and market success of novel energy technologies, strategies and practices that deliver a sustainable future. Energetics was founded in 1979 and joined CLEAResult in 2024 as a division within CLEAResult's Energy Sustainability Services business.

      Job Description

      An intern is needed to assist with research and technical support in Energetics’ Sustainable Transportation and Resilience division. The candidate will assist with a variety of tasks supporting Energetics’ clients in the areas of data collection, management, and analysis; technology research; information synthesis for report and presentation development; and providing general assistance for technology deployment and evaluation activities. The candidate will assist in the preparation of materials designed to educate or inform stakeholders including Federal government, state agency, and local municipality staff. Most task assignments will originate in the area of vehicle technologies and sustainable energy strategies.

      This paid internship spans 10 weeks and both on-site and remote candidates will be considered; onsite candidates can work in one of four offices (Columbia, MD, Washington, DC, San Diego, CA, or Clinton, NY).

      DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Provide research and analytical support for transportation technology research and demonstration projects
      • Evaluate technical and economic feasibility and market trends of advanced transportation technologies
      • Assist with data collection and analysis of vehicle operations or charging station use
      • Use computer tools to facilitate research and analysis tasks
      • Review technical reports, compile technical information, and develop other written materials as requested

      MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

      • Minimum junior standing working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science/Policy, Economics, Public Policy, Business Administration, or related technical field from an accredited university
      • Interest in transportation technologies such as: alternative fuels, vehicle electrification, autonomous vehicles and vehicle-miles-traveled reduction strategies
      • Strong technical and analytical capabilities
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically with Excel
      • Good communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, and written)

      PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

      • Alternative fuels and transportation electrification familiarity
      • Hands-on experience with automotive systems
      • Data analytics and visualization experience (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau)
      • Geographical information system (GIS) program use and results analysis
      • Graduate students working toward a Master’s degree will also be considered

      The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
