  Position Overview:

  The summer internship at Marsh McLennan Agency New England offers students a chance to explore the areas of Property & Casualty Insurance, Risk Management, Retirement Consulting and Employee Benefits Insurance.

  Each intern selected for the program will support one of our four key departments, while gaining exposure to all business practices. Elements of the internship program include lunch & learn sessions, analyzing client information, researching for ad-hoc projects, and a final group presentation delivered to the senior leadership team.

  In this role, the intern will have the opportunity to work with key stakeholders across leadership, sales, service, marketing, and operations.

  What can you expect to do?

  • Follow the individualized internship plan through with guidance from the supervisor and mentor.
  • Be consistent and punctual with the submissions of the work assignments to the mentor.
  • Complete weekly activity report and other forms required as learning tools.
  • Relay and apply knowledge acquired in the academic setting to the company setting.
  • Participate in office, carrier, and/or client meetings.

  What do we look for?

  • Students currently in their junior year toward a Bachelor’s degree majoring in Risk and Insurance Management OR displaying a keen interest in learning insurance, risk management, or financial consulting fields.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge in the areas of communication, interpersonal relationship management, versatility and creativity.
  • Someone who displays resourcefulness in finding solutions for our clients and our Agency
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
