      Program Overview

      The summer internship program is comprised of a 12-week session that starts on May 20th, 2024 and ends on August 8th, 2024. This position is in Oklahoma City at our corporate offices. Remote work is not available. Each student intern will work on a project with a seasoned mentor from the Hobby Lobby Technology staff. Interns will be scheduled to work approximately 32 hours per week, with every Friday off. This program offers students an opportunity to gain real world knowledge and experience on projects that help Hobby Lobby in a significant way. This is a paid internship and is offered at a competitive rate in the Oklahoma City market.

      Responsibilities

      This announcement encompasses several opportunities on different technology teams, but in general each intern will be responsible for their assignment on a project that will help complete requirements identified to help automate a business function.

      A Developer Intern will work with enterprise level architectures using languages including C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, and SQL. Some of the technologies and practices we are using include web applications and RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core, single page apps using Angular and Next.js/React, and more.

      A DevOps Developer Intern will work with applications and tools that enable us to manage builds and deployments, monitor performance, and maintain other areas of our software release pipeline. We work with tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Sonatype Nexus, Dynatrace, and more. This role will also include some development with languages and frameworks such as C#, ASP.NET Core, SQL, JavaScript, and PowerShell.

      A Business Intelligence Developer Intern will participate in various business intelligence roles including engineering, modeling, and visualization. Some of the technologies we are using include SQL Server, Analysis Server, Tabular Models, C#, and Power BI. Interns will learn best practices as they participate on an actual analytics project that will produce actionable insights for the business.

      A Linux System Admin Intern will learn Kubernetes, automation, security and various scripting languages including Bash and Python.
