      Teacher - German

      Blacksburg High/Christiansburg High School

      School Year 2025-2026

      The Montgomery County School Board, Virginia, is now accepting applications for a German teaching position that is available for the 2025-26 school year at Blacksburg High/Christiansburg High School (split position).

      Primary Responsibilities:

      To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      • Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher’s License with the appropriate endorsement to teach German at the high school level
      • Have experience in lesson planning and curriculum development
      • Have experience and expertise in using technology in education
      • Have experience or working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration and course work
      • Have effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
      • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and families
      • Demonstrate the ability to be dependable and punctual
      • Demonstrate the ability to work and collaborate with a team of other teachers

      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

      • Earned master’s degree in German or an earned master’s degree in Education to include eighteen graduate semester hours in German
      • Experienced or have working familiarity with virtual education
      • Experience in teaching creative writing and journalism
      • Experience with dual enrollment

      SALARY: $52,832.35 - $85,613.64 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience
