Academics Plus Charter Schools, Inc. (APCSI) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of a Part-Time Custodian 3:00 PM-7:00 PM.

The custodian should be able to Provide maintenance and custodial services as needed and/or as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Successful completion of the pre-employment background checks.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintain professional behavior, appearance, and work ethic to represent the school district in a positive manner at all times.
2. Develop and maintain a cleaning schedule that will include cleaning of floors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms.
3. Keep school buildings and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas neat and clean.
4. Assist with the cleanup in the cafeteria during breakfast and lunch periods, cleaning trays, removing trash, running dishes through the dishwasher, etc., as directed by the supervisor.
5. Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and inform the supervisor of supply needs.
6. Maintain a program of preventive maintenance to ensure the comfort, health, and safety of students and staff.
7. Make minor building repairs as needed and report major repair needs to supervisor if required.
8. Move furniture, equipment or materials within the building and across campuses as directed by principal or supervisor.
9. Perform work at varying heights on a ladder.
10. Communicate positively with students, parents, visitors, and staff.
11. Effectively and positively communicate orally and in writing.
12. Maintain a positive attitude and represent the school in a positive manner at all times.
13. All other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical Demands: Strenuous walking, standing, and/or climbing; heavy lifting and carrying; work outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; exposure to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; work on ladders; ability to lift and carry 75lbs.
