      We are recruiting for Summer Interns within the K-Star platform to join a 10-week internship experience in Dallas, TX. This program will provide robust learning and development opportunities. At the conclusion of the program, 2026 full-time offers may be extended to exceptional performers based on mutual interest and business needs.

      KKR Real Estate Overview

      KKR Real Estate was founded in 2011 on the belief that a dedicated real estate team with access to KKR’s global investment platform could create differentiated deal flow and compelling risk-adjusted returns for its investors. The primary mandate of KKR Real Estate is to leverage the KKR brand, relationships, industry expertise, and proprietary knowledge of the Firm (where appropriate) together with the real estate expertise of the team to create differentiated deal flow for its investors. Led by Ralph Rosenberg, Global Head of KKR Real Estate, the team has approximately 140 real estate investment and asset management professionals and has grown to over $75 billion of AUM. Its capabilities across real estate equity, real estate loans, and real estate securities, under the same leadership team, has allowed it to create a global portfolio of approximately $262 billion of assets to which it lends or owns as of June 30, 2024.

      KKR Real Estate Credit and K-Star Investment Services Overview

      KKR Real Estate Credit was formed in 2015 to invest in real estate credit products and complement KKR Real Estate’s private equity platforms in the U.S. and Western Europe. KKR Real Estate Credit is an integrated real estate credit business that invests through loans and securities across the risk spectrum, from core to opportunistic. KKR Real Estate Credit has approximately $40 billion of AUM as of June 30, 2024, and invests primarily through seven main pools of capital.

      K-Star Asset Management LLC ("K-Star") was formed in 2022 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of KKR. K-Star is a real estate investment services platform providing special servicing, value-add asset management, underwriting and due diligence services, and asset-backed finance support for residential and consumer loans to KKR’s real estate credit portfolio. The K-Star team includes industry specialists in special servicing, value-add asset management, due diligence, and underwriting, among other functional areas.

      POSITION OVERVIEW

      K-Star is seeking Summer Interns to join full-time for a 10-week internship, commencing June 2025. Summer Interns will be exposed to K-Star’s core business functions: Credit Asset Management, Special Servicing, and Surveillance/Investor Reporting. Responsibilities of the Summer Interns will include, but not be limited to, tasks associated with the oversight and reporting on a portfolio of loans secured by stabilized, light transitional and construction projects for credit asset management, and performing and non-performing securitized loans for special servicing located throughout the United States.

      Summer Interns will also be expected to participate in special projects and assignments related to the growth of the platform as deemed necessary and appropriate by their manager. With the goal of developing strong process creation and execution skills, Summer Interns must be exceptional communicators and demonstrate the ability to build strong working relationships across the various KKR businesses, including the Firm’s real estate credit originations, legal, finance, and asset management teams. If the Summer Intern exhibits exceptional performance, a full-time offer of employment may be extended for immediate start following the conferment of a Bachelor’s degree.

      ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Monitor portfolio performance for potential adverse credit issues and trend analyses
      • Review and analyze monthly and/or quarterly financial statements and rent rolls with comparison against underwriting and budgets
      • Monitor national, regional and local market dynamics to assess tenant credit risks and concentrations
      • Interpret complex loan documents to confirm and track satisfaction of relevant loan terms and covenants
      • Prepare and review asset performance reports to company management and other investor parties
      • Evaluate and review draw requests, lease approvals, loan modifications and various other borrower requests and periodic underwriting of collateral
      • Manage special projects, including implementation of new technologies to support K-Star’s platform
      • Create reports and memos for ad hoc projects and requests

      QUALIFICATIONS

      • Anticipated graduation in December 2025 – June 2026 with a Bachelor’s degree from an undergraduate college or university
      • Expressed interest in commercial real estate via academic major or student group/club involvement
      • Outstanding academic record and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
      • Aptitude for critical and creative thinking across the quantitative and qualitative spectrum
      • Self-starter; comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment
      • Ability to learn quickly with clear intellectual curiosity and self-motivation
      • Excellent communication skills
      • Team-oriented
      • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work both independently and within teams
      • Strong attention to detail
