      The P&C Actuarial and Underwriting Modeling (PCM) department at State Farm is a place where interns complete innovative, meaningful research in a collaborative environment focused on developing technical and business skills - a perfect complement to the classroom. We are looking for innovative individuals who are self-starters and like being part of a team to develop and implement creative solutions. We have a growing and evolving infrastructure of applications that include development in Python and Java combined with leveraging containers and AWS for implementation.

      We offer development through training programs, mentoring programs, and leadership opportunities as well as competitive compensation/benefits such as flexible work arrangements.

      Internship duration and hours:

      May 19, 2025 - August 1, 2025

      Monday - Friday, 38.75 hours per week

      Pay: $30/hour. In addition, interns selected for our summer internship program will be eligible for a $2,000 stipend!

      Hub Location(s): Bloomington, IL; Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Phoenix, AZ


      Qualifications

      We Are Looking for Candidates with:

      • Ability to build new and/ or modify existing software to meet business and technical requirements through web based software component designing, coding, testing, and quality review
      • Experience with Python or Java development
      • Experience with Restful Web services
      • Experience with AWS is preferred, but is not required
      • Strong communication, interpersonal, organization, leadership and critical thinking skills
      • A 3.25 GPA cumulative and in major is required. A GPA of 3.5 or higher is preferred.
      • Ability to work in a team environment
      • Must be a college student, pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/IT, Data Science, Mathematics & Engineering or a related field
      • Competencies: Initiative; Teamwork; Relationship Building; Communication; Technical Functional; Strategic Business Focus
