      Job Description: School Mental Health Provider

      POSITION: School Mental Health Provider

      REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services

      QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in a Behavioral Health Field- LPC or LCSW JOB GOAL: To provide consistent mental health support for IMPRESS students and additional students in need

      PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Work in a school team environment which includes collaboration with IMPRESS (behavioral) classroom teachers, behavior support services team members, and various other stakeholders. To support students with individual, group, and family therapy in developing and transferring core Social Emotional Learning (SEL) competencies (self management, self awareness, social awareness, responsible decision making, and relationship skills) Assist studentsProvide crisis intervention (assist with conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques) Apply Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports to utilize evidence-based prevention and intervention practices along a multi-tiered continuum to support the whole child (safe, supported, challenged, engaged, and healthy) Professional Development Requirements to keep license current Opportunities to maintain high level of skill and knowledge of current research based practices Additional Responsibilities Plan and evaluate strategies for improving behavior Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve district and building goals Participate in building level team meetings as appropriate (RTIB, IEP, 504, etc.) Provide leadership to others through examples and sharing of knowledge/ skill Organize and schedule time commitment to meet demands of the job.
