What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Collaborate with engineers on selected projects related to atmospheric observing systems
- Prepare a poster presentation summarizing the work completed during the internship
- Participate in community activities and adhere to professional conduct guidelines
- Work full-time (40 hours per week) throughout the 11-week internship program
- Interact with mentors and peers to support collaboration and inquiry
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in sophomore year or above at an accredited U.S. university with a major in computer science, electrical engineering, optical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related disciplines
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the 11-week summer program
- Basic knowledge of engineering concepts through coursework
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to learn scientific and engineering computing tools
- Good oral and written communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Completion of two or three years of relevant college courses with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Some basic research and programming experience
