Primary Purpose:
To oversee the planning, implementation, management, and evaluation of the Texas ACE Program at the assigned community learning center. The Site Coordinator focus will be to collaborate with the Project Director and coordinate planning and evaluations, implement improvements, and facilitate program training and services for the assigned center. This program is part of Afterschool Centers on Education (ACE), a comprehensive academic program funded by the Texas Education Agency. This position is funded with Title IV, Part B 21st Century (Fund 265).
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong knowledge of effective project management techniques
Thorough knowledge of workforce development strategies
Knowledge of techniques for partnership development
Knowledge of occupational training opportunities
Ability to coordinate large projects with multiple activities and diverse participants
Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
Ability to make effective presentations
Ability to work with students and families of diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds
Experience:
Successful experience in teaching, counseling, social work, or related field preferred
Experience working within the public school system preferred
Experience working with high risk children and families
Experience in staff supervision
Knowledge of community resources
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Oversee day-to-day operations of the 21st Century Site for afterschool and summer program.
2. Develop a work plan in accordance with goals, objectives, and funding limitations to implement parent and student programs at 21st Century school site.
3. Oversee site operations and coordinate services with school staff and community partners.
4. Design and implement a comprehensive plan with identified strategies and timelines that are grade-level specific to increase student achievement, attendance, positive behavior, and student engagement at the site campus.
5. Designs and implements a variety of K-5 instructional activities, materials, and strategies related to student growth and achievement and access for use with individual students and small groups.
6. Works to establish teams to develop a support system for targeted students.
7. Coordinates the site staff.
8. Prepares programmatic and statistical reports and disseminates information as required.

9. Provide professional communication with students, parents, community members, staff, and other professionals at all times.
10. Use proper phone etiquette at all times, speaking slowly and clearly. Take reliable messages, and route to the appropriate staff.
11. Ensure superior customer care skills are used via eye contact, facial expressions, voice inflections, body language, and an attitude of "going the extra mile" for others.
12. Ensure all requests for information are dealt with in an appropriate timeframe.
13. Create and maintain a welcoming, service-oriented environment toward all internal and external customers.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise school and community staff for the site program.
