Northeast Technology Center POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Position: Instructional Services Coordinator, District assigned to Administration. with a current assignment at the Kansas Campus Exempt Certified Professional, Full-Time, 12-month Staff. Starting Date: August 1, 2024 Reports to: Director of Instructional Services Schedule: General work schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, unless the assignment requires additional time for completion. Compensation Package: $75,648 annually, commensurate with experience, plus a salary supplement of $5,310 - $8,395 annually. Health, dental, vision, paid life insurance, and teachers’ retirement paid; flexible benefits plan; sick leave, vacation, and paid holidays. Total compensation package: approximately $100,510 annually. Primary Function: Provides leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of quality institutional and instructional programs. Program involvement will include student information systems, assessment and gradebook systems, program management, instructional strategies, the Moodle learning management system, and curriculum development for all subject areas. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field and current Oklahoma Department of Education teaching certificate required. NORTHEAST TECHNOLOGY CENTER JOB DESCRIPTION Exempt, Certified Professional, Full-time, 12-month Staff TITLE: INSTRUCTIONAL SERVICES COORDINATOR Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Supervisor retains the right to adjust work schedule and job description/duties based on needs of the district. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Comply with all state and federal laws and policies, and procedures of the school district. Develop and maintain a positive and trusted relationship with instructors and district staff. Demonstrate knowledge of instructional strategies, including technology-related methods that engage all students. Demonstrate an effective lesson when appropriate. Encourage continual growth for all instructors. Demonstrate an understanding of the components and effective implementation of a Learning Management System (LMS), preferably the district standard, Moodle. Work positively toward meeting identified district and campus instructional improvement goals. Coordinate/facilitate individual and/or group professional development opportunities for instructors. Provide encouragement and emotional support to teachers. Serve as a consultant to district staff/administrator regarding instruction. Provide instructor support for classroom engagement and management strategies. Plan, organize, and conduct instructor training workshops. Provide instructors with digital resource tools related to each program’s instruction and curriculum. Provide assistance in researching instructional and/or curriculum issues. Assist instructors with designing and implementing curriculum in various subject areas, related to career and technical education that align to their program requirements. Assist teachers in creating and supporting course content for district-approved Learning Management System (LMS), Moodle. Assist with training and the mentoring process for new instructors. Assist instructors in utilizing instructional resources related to their chosen curriculum. Train instructors and staff members in new content, software applications, and processes. Obtain advance approval of the Campus Director and Director of Instructional Services for unique activities and expenditures. Possess an understanding of when to contact administrators regarding issues of safety/ethics involving students in observed classrooms. Assist administration in the district’s strategic plan and long-range planning for instruction. Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community. Manage time and schedule flexibility that maximizes instructor’s schedules and learning. Attend workshops/conferences to learn about new innovative instructional strategies and coaching. Regular attendance following a designated work schedule. Must be able to work scheduled and extended hours and additional days/evenings as required by position responsibilities. Adhere to all district and building health and safety policies. Any other responsibilities or duties assigned by the Supervisor or Superintendent, understanding that job responsibilities may vary related to each campus’ needs. Education, Experience, and Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field and current Oklahoma Department of Education teaching certificate required. Must have five (5) years of recent teaching experience, experience teaching high school and/or adult students. Technology center teaching experience is preferred. Must possess a diverse teaching background with a proven track record of academic success. Demonstrated application of innovative use of technology in the classroom. Proven success with creative teaching methods, teaching of diverse populations, and effective implementation of classroom management strategies, including distance learning. Experience in making presentations before large groups. Evidence of skills to fulfill the position's responsibilities is important. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status. Cannot be related to currently seated district school board members within the second degree of affinity or consanguinity. Training and Meeting Requirements: View or attend required Safety Training either by video or in person on a quarterly basis. Attend professional development training opportunities as required by district policy. Attend meetings and provide information to the Administration or Board of Education as requested. Work Environment: Operate in a professional office environment and/or classroom. Routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive to various campuses, meetings and training using school vehicles. Physical, Mental Demands, and Dependability: Light physical effort is required, for example, to load paper in the copier and answer and return phone calls. Must be able to care for oneself, see, hear, walk, stand, lift, bend, reach, climb, stoop, squat, speak, breathe, learn, read, concentrate, think, and perform work by doing manual tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation. Reports to: Director of Instructional Services Terms of Employment: At-will for the first year of employment. After the first year, employment is considered annually in accordance with Oklahoma law. Annual Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with Oklahoma law and the provisions of the board’s policy on evaluations.
