      Job Title: Lunch Monitor

      Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt

      Reports to: Principal and teacher(s)

      Pay Grade: AUX - 1

      Dept./School: Assigned Campus

      Primary Purpose:

      Supervise students during lunch, recess, or other activity as assigned. Maintain an orderly and safe environment. Work under the general supervision of the principal, assistant principal, or teacher as required by the campus.

      Qualifications:

      Education/Certification:

      High school diploma or GED

      Special Knowledge/Skills:

      Ability to successfully interact with children

      Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

      Experience:

      None required; some experience working with children preferred.

      Major Responsibilities and Duties:

      Student Management

      1. A Work with campus administrators and teachers to create and maintain an orderly, secure, and safe environment.
      2. Manage student behavior and take disciplinary action as necessary according to board policies, administrative regulations, and campus guidelines.
      3. Guide students through lunch line; keep line moving smoothly.
      4. Ensure that cleanliness of the assigned area is maintained.

      Other

      1. Maintain confidentiality regarding student and coworker information and as required by FERPA.
      2. Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned.
      3. Some light office/clerical duties may occasionally be required.

      Maintain emotional control in a multi-task environment. Must be able to tolerate typical noise level of cafeteria environment. Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.
