- Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules related to student conduct.
- Assist campus staff in supervising students during school operations (arrival, transitions, lunch, and dismissal).
- Assists with the production of student identification badges as needed.
- Checks student and visitor badges and ensures proper display of student and visitor identification badges.
- Assists visitors and provides directions or acts as a guide to authorized campus visitors as needed.
- Works to prevent and resolve conflict or confrontation between students and report disturbances to campus principal/designee.
- Consults with campus principal/designee regarding truant students or students seen out of class excessively.
- Carries out daily walks of campus grounds and completes any necessary checks as prescribed by campus principal.
- Monitors campus security camera system and pulls recorded information as needed.
- Assists campus administration in campus evacuation procedures and safety drills.
- Reports graffiti, vandalism, or safety concerns in need of correction.
- Notifies the campus principal of any situation that requires immediate attention.
- Promotes a positive and caring school climate.
- Serves as a positive role model that supports the mission of the District and the campus.
- Participates in staff development, faculty meetings, special events, and any specific training.
- Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job.
- Maintains confidentiality of information.
- Keeps campus administrators informed of urgent matters.
- Corrects unsafe conditions in work areas and reports any conditions that are not correctable to the supervisor immediately.
- Complies with District and center policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
- Complies with the standards of conduct set out in Board Policy DH (Legal) and (Local) and with any other policies,
- Performs any other duties as assigned by the administration.
- Works irregular and extended work hours to include holidays and weekends.
- Works with frequent interruptions and maintains emotional control under stress.
- Continuous standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, lifting (up to a minimum of fifty 50 pounds), and carrying.
- Frequent exposure to: temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise, low or intense illumination vibration.
- Occasional exposure to: biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.), work outside, work around moving objects or vehicles, work on uneven surfaces.
Primary Purpose:
Under general supervision, maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful environment within the school or facility. They are responsible for overseeing the movement of students or individuals in hallways and common areas, ensuring adherence to rules and policies, and promoting a positive atmosphere. They also serve as a point of contact for students and staff, offering assistance, guidance, and ensuring that all safety protocols are followed. Their presence helps prevent disruptions, ensures the smooth operation of daily activities, and contributes to the overall safety and well-being of the community.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Certification
High School diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency)
Candidates must have a satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by
employee.
Required Experience:

Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to clearly and accurately record information
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to work effectively with teachers, school staff, and students
Knowledge of basic computer operations and skills
Ability to operate personal computer
Ability to communicate effectively
