      TITLE: District Substitute Coordinator

      TYPE OF POSITION: Part-time (~4 hours/day), REMOTE; (Estimated Start Date: 8/27/2025; salary $23.44-$30.80/hour

      LOCATION: REMOTE, Hopkinton, Massachusetts

      AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All qualified candidates

      NOTE: Selected candidate will receive first consideration for all future District Sub Coordinator opportunitites.

      The District Substitute Coordinator is responsible for the overall substitute program, including processing new applicants for substitute teaching/nursing, securing substitutes and filling emergency requests for substitutes, and maintaining substitute database and records. The incumbent should expect to perform duties 1½ - 2 hours per evening and up to 2 hours each weekday morning, beginning at approximately 5:30 AM, from his/her home.

      The District Substitute Coordinator reports to the Director of Human Resources, with input from the building principals.

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      1. Experience with Google Sheets, sufficient to maintain substitute data;
      2. Bachelor’s Degree, Master's Degree preferred in Education, Business, or a related field;
      3. Successful administrative experience, preferably in an education setting;
      4. Excellent organizational and communication skills;
      5. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality;
      6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Director of Human Resources may find appropriate and in conformity with state and federal requirements.

      DUTIES:

      1. Screen all substitute teacher/nurse applicants, and recommend candidates for interview;
      2. Secures substitute teachers/nurses daily for the purpose of providing coverage at school sites, including emergency requests for substitute coverage and confirms coverage with building administrators and/or support staff;
      3. Maintains a variety of records/files (e.g. cross filing system of substitute teachers and subjects, teacher absences, etc.) for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference and/or complying with all federal/state/district regulations;
      4. Prepares various reports and written materials (i.e. substitute teacher handbook, absence reports, substitute roster, refused assignments) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information;
      5. Submits bi-weekly payroll report to the Payroll Coordinator;
      6. Other duties as required.
