- Music Major: Commonly accepted bachelor's (or higher degree) majors for a Florida temporary educator certificate include: Applied Music, Instrumental Music, Music, Music Education, Piano or other major instrument, Vocal Music, Voice, Composition (music), Percussion.
- Other Majors: For other degree majors, passing the FTCE Subject Area Exam in Music K-12 is required. This computer based test is 80 multiple-choice questions and 2.5 hours. Free sample questions are available here. Visit the testing website http://www.fl.nesinc.com/tests.asp for further details. Locate a test center. If at first you don't succeed, you may retest every 30 days. The exam costs $150, unless you have an approved Military Vet or Spouse Certification Fee Waiver or Retired First Responder Fee Waiver.

Marathon Middle/High School is seeking a music teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Start Date: August 5, 2024.
We are seeking to build a marching band program. Additional opportunites exists for choir, jazz band, steel drums, and guitar.

This teaching position reaches students in grades 6-12.
Salary: Base Salary ranging from $61,500-$101,700, commensurate with experience. Details provided in the attachment.

Eligibility for Florida certification is required.
