About the Position:
The EVO Core Linux OS infra team is responsible for designing and developing features, enhancements, and fixes for networking / driver domains of our products. The team is looking for an ambitious Software Engineer with passion for Kernel / Operating System technologies to join its Linux development team. Successful candidates will support and enhance the Linux operating system which runs on Juniper’s networking products.
Responsibilities:
· Conceptualize, design, develop, debug and test Linux Operating System.
· Develop / enhance / troubleshoot operating system, including high availability features and related core drivers.
· Work closely with Build and Tools teams to integrate test strategy for Linus OS infra related changes.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Strong C/C++ programming language and debugging skills are a must.
· Bourne Shell, Python, build/makefiles, other programming and scripting language experience.
· Exposure to Linux OS and OS concepts such as process management, multi-core/multi-threading, signals, memory management, synchronization primitives.
· Understanding of x86 architectures.
· BS/MS in CS/CE or similar field is required
· Proven problem solving/analytical skills.
· Excellent communication skills required.
· Must be a strong, self-motivated team player, capable of working in fast-paced R&D environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Familiarity writing daemon and/or Kernel software in C for UNIX-flavor Kernel (Linux) is preferred.
· Familiarity with device drivers, file systems, TCP/IP Networking stack.
· Familiarity with Hypervisors such as KVM, VMware, Xen.

Minimum Salary: $88,800.00
Maximum Salary:$127,650.00
The pay range for this position is expected to be between $88,800.00 and $127,650.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Juniper’s pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.
