    • Plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students
    • Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure Success for Every Student
    • Supervises students in a variety of school related settings
    • Implements state learning standards and Lincoln curricula and assessments to give all students access to rigorous and engaging grade-level work
    • Works collaboratively with colleagues to monitor, evaluate, and improve student outcomes through analysis of student work, adjustments in instruction, and shared teaching strategies
    • Develops, selects and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students
    • Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices
    • Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities.
    • Manages behavior in a way that aligns to school-wide expectations and protocols, and is clear, consistent, equitable, and student-centered
    • Establishing and maintaining a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding and respect for the communities in which they identify
    • Knowledge of PPS curriculum, techniques for integrating curriculum, PPS policies, and effective instructional practices
    • Experience with proficiency-based grading, including developing high-quality assessments aligned to student-friendly rubrics
    • Strong understanding of the mechanics of effective pedagogy and experience using differentiation strategies to teach heterogeneous classes
    • Demonstrated willingness to collaborate with colleagues, including ELL and Special Ed teachers, to design effective lessons and assessments
    • Ability to teach with cultural humility, through questioning deeply held beliefs and viewpoints, and grappling with conflicting perspectives
    • Willingness and ability to use technology to teach and communicate with students and families
    • Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office and school based staff, students, parents and community
    • Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills
    • Bachelor's degree in the applicable field of education from an accredited college or university
    • Master Degree preferred
    • ESOL experience or certification (660 Endorsement) preferred
    • Maine State fingerprint (CHRC) authorization (more info).
    • Maine State Teaching Certificate with either of the following endorsements (more info):
      • 300 Middle Level Math (5-8)
      • 300 Secondary Math (6-12)

    • POSITION OVERVIEW: 7th Grade Math Teacher (Full Time) - Lincoln Middle, 25-26 SY
      Portland Public Schools is hiring a 7th grade Math Teacher to join the teaching faculty at Lincoln Middle school. We are seeking a teacher with a demonstrated commitment to equitable teaching practices, a willingness to collaborate closely with others, and the ability to teach to high standards in a heterogeneous classroom. Experience with Illustrative Mathematics and working with Multilingual Learners are preferred assets.

      ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


      Under direction of the school Principal, the Math Teacher
