      Position: Janitorial Material Handler FLSA Status: Non-exempt

      POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for performing a Material Handler role in supporting all process operations that feed the flow of corrugated material onto the trash line conveyors and into the balers on both sides of the building. The position will be responsible for loading all bales with the assistance of a forklift onto a dedicated trailer. This role requires walking the trash line to ensure that all cardboard flows freely throughout the conveyors without any interruptions to the business. The position also requires cleaning various work spaces throughout our facility.

      INTERACTION:

      · Must be able to communicate and cooperate with Leadership and all associates within the company.

      · Extensive interactions with other individuals within the distribution center and the company.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

      · Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

      • Maintains the flow of corrugated moving into the baler.
      • Communicate and assist Maintenance team member of any breakdowns or jams that keep the trash line from operating.
      • Performs sweeping, cleaning, power washing, and general grounds improvement work as needed.
      • Operates all balers in the facility through maintaining all operations of the baler, PM’ing, feeding the wire, and cleaning as needed.
      • Operates all trash compactors in the facility through maintaining all operations of the baler, PM’ing, and cleaning as needed.
      • Identifies and acts immediately regarding any safety hazards, spills, etc., to avoid the risk of accidents
      • Abide by all stated regulations while performing works, i.e., lockout/tagout procedures, etc.
      • Maintain cleanliness of the baler rooms.
      • Maintain cleanliness to the assigned forklift.
      • May need to perform routine inspections and maintenance in various locations; including restrooms, conference rooms, break rooms and general office areas.
      • Will complete all assigned tasks before leaving the shift.

      · May be required to perform other facility maintenance duties and functions or assist in other departments as needed depending on the needs of the business.


      PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

      · Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds of force frequently.

      · Ability to work while standing for a long period of time

      · Ability to climb ladders, work on lifts, stoop and bend on a regular basis.

      · Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to focus and to differentiate between colors and shades of colors.

      · Ability to work in both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned environments.

      QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

      • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Preferred.
      • Forklift certified
      • Experience in operating a variety of hand tools and equipment.

      · Must actively participate as a member of the team and be willing to maintain high levels of productivity, occasionally sustaining longer working hours when necessary.

      • Must be able to work flexible hours and adapt to changing work requirements.

      · Attention to detail and established procedures

      • Basic English language skills

      PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

      · Annual performance appraisal administered by leadership.

      · Attainment of annual goals.
