- Requirements, Design, Traceability, and Installation of on-aircraft equipment working with multi-disciplinary team.
- Work directly with Engineering to complete new designs and modifications, incorporate engineering change orders and release detailed drawing packages
- Create and revise solid models and detailed drawings of complex components and assemblies using Creo
- Manage, promote and release engineering data using Windchill
- Ensure system requirements comply with Part 23, ASTMs, and other regulatory, industry requirements, or MIL standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- Proficiency in PLM and CAD software
- Strong understanding of top-down modeling principles and practices
- Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerance
- Ability to work effectively with others in a cross functional organization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Experience with Windchill PDM and Creo/Pro-E.
- Experience in system validation & verification, including assembling validation, writing system test procedure, conducting integration testing, troubleshooting problem reports.
- Familiarity with environmental testing
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read, write and speak the English language
- Ability to work both independently and within a cross-functional team
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with Chief Engineers and management peer groups.
- Out of the box thinking to deliver required technical solutions to meet program goals.
- Excellent technical writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Sound judgement and decision-making skills.
- Able to work with program managers and project leaders to develop and hold accountability to schedules.
- Ability to efficiently learn new skills and manage multiple tasks
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Project)

Job Summary:
Cirrus Aircraft is currently hiring a Mechanical Engineer focused on Avionics and Electrical System packaging and installation. In this role, Engineers are responsible for developing new aircraft system installations or modifying existing aircraft systems installations to meet aircraft requirements.
The engineer performs technical planning, system integration, verification & validation, cost & risk and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all system levels and includes concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Performs functional analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition. Candidates will also be responsible for coordinating development and system integration work with subcontractors and external suppliers.
