      Overview

      A wonderful family in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an experienced and nurturing Newborn Care Specialist (NCS)/ Postpartum Doula to provide daytime support for their newborn, expected in August.

      Position Details:

      • Start Date: August 2025
      • Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
      • Days Off: To be negotiated; flexibility appreciated
      • Contract Length: 9 months
      • Overnight Coverage: Already in place with a dedicated overnight NCS

      The ideal candidate will be highly knowledgeable in newborn care, supportive of the postpartum journey, and comfortable working collaboratively with other caregivers. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a kind and respectful family through their baby’s earliest months and possibly beyond. Housing is not provided.

      Responsibilities

      • Prioritizing the safety and well-being of the baby
      • Postpartum care, breastfeeding/bottle feeding assistance
      • Umbilical cord care
      • Assist with food transition
      • Full-charge care, including bathing and diapering
      • Following and establishing routines, including sleep training
      • Light housekeeping related to baby – baby’s laundry, bottle/pump part cleaning, sanitizing, and sanitizing baby’s toys
      • Engage the baby and encourage development through age-appropriate activities
      • Track and log the baby’s developmental milestones and assist with reaching them
      • Provide recommendations on items to buy for the nursery and the baby
      • Take the baby out for walks and outdoor time
      • Adhere to parents’ preferences and philosophies
      • Travel with family if requested

      Qualifications

      • 5+ years as an NCS
      • Experience as a postpartum doula
      • Professional, warm, and kind
      • Intuitive and proactive
      • Trustworthy and dependable
      • Ability to work collaboratively
      • Must be organized, punctual, and keep things tidy
      • Supportive and passionate about infants and care

      Requirements

      • Must be legal to work in the U.S.
      • Up to date on vaccinations
      • Infant CPR certified
      • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
      • Ability to travel
      • Pet friendly - Family has a dog

      Salary and Benefits
