      Position Highlights The Eller College of Management’s Undergraduate Programs Office is seeking an experienced professional with effective communication and leadership skills to contribute to the team as an Academic Advisor II and support Eller students to pursue a global experience. The role serves Eller students through academic and study abroad advising, as well as overseeing global programs that contribute to the retention of undergraduate students in the Eller College. They are responsible for taking the initiative in proactively assisting students in navigating study abroad opportunities, evaluating academic abilities, setting goals and objectives, meeting requirements of Eller majors in the foundation and professional programs, and exploring global experiential learning and career opportunities. Academic Advisors II also have programming responsibilities which require the ability to plan and implement programs or processes, while working collaboratively with students, staff, faculty, and department leadership. They will be expected to participate in professional development activities, apply best practices, and demonstrate industry knowledge.

      Duties & Responsibilities
      • Advise Eller students on study abroad opportunities including program and course selection, application processes, cultural awareness, and health and safety protocols.
      • Support Eller global program portfolio, lead global program information sessions, and pre-departure orientations.
      • Advise Eller students on academic requirements and procedures associated with the foundational and professional phases of the Eller programs, on Main Campus, Online Campus, and Global Campus.
      • Oversee the Global Business Minor and track student progress towards completion.
      • Evaluate course petitions and amendments to student's programs of study, monitor academic progress, maintain student files and records, and evaluate transfer transcripts for course equivalencies.
      • Develop and deliver global programs that benefit the Eller student population; and assess and communicate outcomes to department leadership.
      • Perform other duties as assigned.

      Knowledge Skills and Abilities

      • General knowledge and use of principles, theories and concepts. Is competent in all job functions and has general understanding of Global Advising practices, techniques and standards.
      • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written.
      • Creative problem-solving skills.
      • Strong spreadsheet and database skills.
      • A demonstrated ability to take the initiative to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail and the ability to perform in a rapidly changing environment.
      Minimum Qualifications
      • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience.
      • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
      Preferred Qualifications
      • Experience living, working, or studying abroad.
      • Previous experience providing academic advising to students pursuing a BSBA or BA through the Eller College of Management.
      • Project management experience related to student programming.
      • Familiarity with eSMS UAccess Students, and Microsoft platforms.
      • Second language proficiency.
