      Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume)
      Bachelor’s Degree (foreign equivalent or higher) and three years of administrative experience ( Student work experience may be considered). In lieu of a Bachelor’s, an Associate’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) and five years of full time related administrative experience may be considered. Project management and/or event coordination experience. Experience interacting with individuals at various levels within an institution. Experience with MS Office and/or Google Apps.

      Preferred Qualifications:
      Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in higher education administration or related field. Experience working in Higher Education/Academic administration. Experience creating and editing visual representations of data to communicate insights to a variety of audiences, such as designing PowerPoint presentations, creating pivot tables in Excel, and developing dashboards and other data visualizations. Experience with program evaluation in the public sector, auditing and/or records management experience. Experience working with regulatory agencies, such as the New York State Education Department (NYSED), and/or public university systems, such as the State University of New York (SUNY). Experience with strategic planning and/or proposal development.

      Brief Description of Duties:

We are looking for an excellent communicator and coordinator to advance interesting projects and crucial activities in the chief academic office of a flagship SUNY institution. The Academic Affairs Coordinator provides a critical role for the Academic Affairs team in the Office of the Provost by facilitating project management, strategic planning, and proposal development. The incumbent will work with and support the Vice Provost of Academic Affairs and the Assistant Provost for Academic Program and Curriculum Management. They should have strong organizational skills and an exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

      Duties:

      • Under the direction of and in coordination with the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs:
        • Provide project management support for proposed changes to policy and procedures.
        • Collaborate on strategic planning and setting goals for the area.
        • Perform background/ data-gathering research on issues relevant to the project as needed.
        • Oversee proposal submission with the Research Foundation (RF) and/or Advancement Office as appropriate.
        • Research, analyze and prepare material for the VP in relation to meetings, activities, reports, inquiries, agendas and presentations.
        • Compile data, solicit and research information from a variety of sources both on and off campus, and prepare reports as requested.
      • Under the direction of and in coordination with the Assistant Provost:
        • Review all academic programs proposals for technical errors and provide feedback to the appropriate stakeholders.
        • Track all academic program proposal and curricular submissions to the State University of New York (SUNY) and follow up with stakeholders, as appropriate, to ensure continuity in the workflow.
        • Provide consultations to faculty and/or curriculum administrators on the formatting of program proposals.
        • Maintain up-to-date repositories of all SUNY proposals; communicate approvals of SUNY proposals and provide records to relevant stakeholders.
        • Manage an auditing process to confirm curricula follow SUNY, NYSED, and accreditation standards and ensure the appropriate revision paperwork is filed when academic programs are not in compliance.
      • Build and maintain systems of information organization.
      • Edit, update, and manage all web pages overseen by the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs area.
      • Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and department mission.

      Special Notes:
      This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.

      In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $3,026 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.
