      The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

      At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

      Pay Range: $22.98 - $34.47

      The Academic Authenticity Advisor supports WGU's Academic Authenticity team by directly contributing to assessment security processes with advanced, experience-driven understanding of academic integrity standards and procedures. The Advisor applies advanced expertise to these processes, using foundational team training, enhanced industry knowledge, and ongoing professional development activities to provide thorough, standardized reviews of potential authenticity violations. The Advisor identifies relevant findings and demonstrates sound investigative strategies to ultimately provide policy-driven determinations for authenticity concerns. The Advisor's judgment, analysis, and performance reflect comprehensive knowledge of specific team goals and functions.

      Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

      • Supports the objectives of the Assessment Security and Authenticity Department, utilizing their own expertise and experience to compile evidence of assessment security.
      • Communicates and interacts in a professional manner with personnel internally and outside of WGU. Communicates at a high level verbally, in writing, and through online/virtual methods.
      • Completes Authenticity investigations in the assigned areas accurately and consistently.
      • Collaborates with colleagues to ensure validity and reliability of evaluation across multiple raters, including deferring to the guidance of the team, team lead or manager.
      • Demonstrates advanced competencies while working on a broad range of standard assignments but may require deviation from regular practices from time to time, requiring evaluation of identifiable factors.
      • Demonstrates willingness to learn new platforms and software and an interest in discovering innovative uses of existing software.
      • Adheres to work plans and schedules that are typically pre-defined and may establish new work plans and/or schedules in collaboration with the manager. Advisors cooperate within and between teams to meet the department’s commitment to students for concern review within team's specific SLA.
      • Demonstrates enhanced awareness of the role's direct impact on team objectives and the student experience; contributes collectively with the team toward functional objectives.
      • With general direction from a manager, supervisor, and/or lead, demonstrates ability to self-manage, taking initiative and acting independently in completing assignments.
      • Collaborates with peers, leads, supervisor, and/or manager in determining methods and procedures outside of standard assignments.
      • Provides clear and detailed evidence or supporting material regarding Academic Authenticity, Web Patrol, Online Proctoring and/or Special Investigations.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.

      Job Qualifications:

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree required

      Department Specific Minimum Qualifications:

      • Minimum of 1 year Academic Authenticity experience
      • Flexibility to work 1 weekend day (Saturday OR Sunday) for a minimum of 6 hours
      • Must be comfortable working in a student facing environment

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Work experience in academic authenticity and integrity processes at WGU

      Physical Requirements:

      • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
      • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
