- Already be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or meet the registration requirements
- You will also need to meet our safeguarding requirements of a satisfactory enhanced PVG check.
- We are looking for positive and motivated candidates who are able to communicate with a wide range of people. You will also be organised with excellent time management skills.
- To be successful in this role you will:
- have some experience of working in a health, social care, or related setting
- have some experience of delivering services in a community setting
- have knowledge and understanding of delivering evidence-based interventions
- have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues alike
- be resilient under pressure and able to prioritise your work
- able to be flexible with your working hours on occasion and be happy to support other With You locations when needed
- Ideally you will also have previous experience of working or volunteering with people who use substances. We welcome applications from those with lived experience.

Job summary

Our team in Dumfries and Galloway are looking for an Access and Engagement Worker to join them in providing high-quality recovery care to a diverse client group. If you are enthusiastic, creative and passionate about helping others, we'd love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
As the Access and Engagement Worker, you will act as a first point of contact for clients to ensure that they are able to access appropriate services and treatment efficiently and promptly. You will work as part of the service team and in close partnership with other health care professionals, partner agencies, service commissioners and internal clinical/mental health teams to ensure that clients receive prompt advice and treatment. As Access and Engagement Worker you will improve access to appropriate services for clients with substance misuse issues, developing pathways to ensure the service is as accessible as possible.

As a leading charity supporting people with drug, alcohol, and mental health challenges, we operate over 80 services across England and Scotland, providing free and confidential support to more than 100,000 people each year.
The closing date for applications is 23rd July 2025. This advert may close early should sufficient applications be received. As an organisation we do not have a sponsorship license and are unable to provide sponsorship to live and work in the UK.
