      The Position

      Global Access (GA) is focused on delivering sustainable, replicable and scalable global strategies, policies and solutions. Our work aims to support the Pharma Vision and enables affiliates to drive patient access locally while maximizing the value for society, ecosystems, and Roche’s business. We operate in a highly networked and agile model with stable chapters and a variety of flexible squads and work product teams along the lifecycle and across disease areas, functions, and geographies. Chapters are based on the expertise and capabilities needed to co-create and deliver integrated solutions with our internal and external partners.

      As an Access Strategy Leader you will ensure that GA expertise, and access and policy considerations are effectively incorporated into our development and commercialization strategies at all phases of the lifecycle. Access Strategy Leaders are embedded into a variety of cross-functional teams including aSquads, Pods, iSquads, Disease Area Teams, and Lifecycle Teams to support the development of scalable, feasible, and impactful access strategies, to prepare the market, and to achieve sustainable pricing and reimbursement that secures patient access and maintains our business. At the request of Partnering, and in collaboration with the Portfolio Access Strategy Enabler, Access Strategy Leaders are also called upon to support the evaluation of in-licensing and acquisition opportunities. Access Strategy Leaders are typically aligned to a product or disease area, but are expected to contribute to strategies across the portfolio based on business needs. Access Strategy Leaders also play a meaningful role in developing and maintaining our collective understanding of internal and external market access trends and their impact on patient access and commercialization goals.

      Your key responsibilities:

      • Consistently bring our mission to life by ensuring Roche and healthcare systems deliver rapid, broad, sustainable patient access to our innovative offerings

      • Boldly engage on iSquads, Disease Area Teams, Lifecycle Teams, aSquads, and Pods, or other cross-functional working groups, to ensure our commercialization and development strategies fully reflect market conditions and access considerations

      • Generate holistic access strategies that are scalable, feasible, and balance broad patient access with sustainable pricing and reimbursement across markets

      • Act as an access strategy expert and global point of contact; aid global, regional and affiliate franchise stakeholders with informed, timely guidance and advice

      • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of internal/external access dynamics, trends, and implications

      • In partnership with Evidence/RWE, ensure the clinical and non-clinical evidence package is supportive of the access strategy; and in collaboration with Pricing and Early Evidence, support early strategic pipeline assessments due diligence assessments

      • Develop product or disease area policy strategies as a key component of the overall access strategy, as needed and in consultation with the Global Access Policy Chapter

      • Support the growth and development of the access community through effective knowledge and expertise sharing. Provide coaching and mentoring to individuals aligned with key deliverables and projects. Focus on personal and professional development aligned with current and future business needs

      • Approach work collaboratively and with an enterprise mindset, contribute to a culture of ownership, mastery, and innovation, and a focus on outcomes and impact

      • Lead and / or support the Portfolio Access Strategy Lead with the evaluation of business development opportunities as required

      • Identify key market trends and challenges that will have an impact on portfolio access strategy and generate actionable insights for the Global Access organization and Roche. Lead the development and maintenance of tools and processes that enable cross-chapter Global Access support for products and the portfolio (e.g. Level of Effort, Due Diligence and Pipeline Repository, TiGeR, Regulatory Approvals Repository)

      • Identify key market trends and challenges that will have an impact on portfolio access strategy and generate actionable insights for the Global Access organization and Roche

      Your skills and experience:

      • You have six or more years of access experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry. Multidisciplinary experience working in a variety of functions within and beyond Access is an advantage

      • You have strong knowledge of the drug development and commercialization process, as well as an excellent understanding of the current and future external environment and the process of developing integrated access strategies

      • You have strong knowledge of the Access landscape (in depth knowledge of key markets such as EU4, UK, Canada, Brazil, China and the US is an advantage)

      • You display strong prioritization and project management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels and to position ideas and manage expectations of various internal and external stakeholders. You think outside the box, and strategically beyond the immediate future. You are well-versed in coaching and building relationships in a multicultural environment

      • You have excellent communication skills, including the ability to synthesize, explain and present analytics and data, as well as complex solutions to problem statements to Senior Management, and a proven track record of driving successful and sustainable change that led to improved business performance

      • You are able to build strong effective relationships with key stakeholders and have demonstrated the ability to manage critical conversations and establish collaborative partnerships in a decentralized and matrix organization

      • You have demonstrated the ability to bring the agile ways of working, empowered decision making and creative mindset to life and possess excellent strategic agility and leadership
