    • Validates class attendance data
    • Investigates class absences
    • Communicates with all departments to mitigate attendance errors
    • Corrects absences in Nucleus and Infinite Campus caused by departmental attendance errors
    • Acts as a liaison between department leaders and Attendance Specialists for the purpose of communicating attendance issues
    • Places students with appropriate Attendance Specialists in Infinite Campus
    • Moves students to a new Attendance Specialist when necessary
    • Reviews GCA equipment and communicates with the technology department about equipment issues
    • Updates Attendance Specialists of GCA equipment issues so student attendance can be tracked
    • Coordinates with GCA Equipment Department for the MKV population for the purpose of ensuring accurate attendance
    • Facilitates communication with appropriate departments for missing data days, investigation of data errors, and communicates with data team about missing data information
    • Fixes attendance when necessary if there are errors
    • Investigates class cancellations as needed
    • Ensures accuracy of attendance in Nucleus for students who have been reinstated
    • Oversees engagement level changes as it relates to student data, attendance, and communication
    • Communicates with departments regarding students who are given permission to watch recordings instead of attend classes live
    • Enters attendance in Nucleus for students who are given permission to watch recordings instead of
    • Mass mark attendance outcomes in Nucleus
    • Researches information about attendance, instructional strategies, and school accountability for the purpose of maintaining current knowledge
    • Collects withdrawal appeals and coordinates communication and completion among the District Appeal Board and the legal guardian
    • Acts as Attendance Specialist for all reinstated students
    • Maintains reinstated students tracker
    • Participates in state testing
    • Cross functional duties as assigned
    • Other duties as assigned as allowable under federal funding requirements, if applicable.
    • Cover the assigned Attendance Specialist’s caseload, including responding to Nucleus comments, processing excuse documentation, and contacting students on the 4 & 8 Day Call List.
    • Provide a daily summary of completed tasks to the Attendance Manager and RTO team member.
    • Assume full AS duties for absences of 3+ days and manage additional RTO caseloads as assigned. ? PBIS initiative POC
    • Associate’s degree in Education, Counseling, Human Services, Business, or related field of study AND
    • Two (2) years of truancy experience AND
    • Two (2) years’ experience gathering and providing data AND
    • Two (2) years’ experience in a virtual school setting, earning a “Meets” or “Exceeds” expectations in all categories at each year-end review OR
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Clearance Certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission required.
    • Knowledge of state and federal laws, and other pertinent laws regarding K-12 Education as they relate to applicable duties
    • Knowledge of specific procedures regarding school truancy
    • Familiarity with online learning environment
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Experience working with diverse student populations
    • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suite.
    • Knowledge of the SCSC Comprehensive Performance Framework

    • Work Schedule: This is a Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM, 5 Days/Week, primarily remote position.

      Job Description

      The Accountability Coordinator collaborates with all stakeholders across multiple systems and platforms to ensure seamless department coordination. As part of this role, the Accountability Coordinator works to ensure school-age children attend school by investigating unexcused or excessive absences, communicating with families, and assisting in problem-solving attendance issues. They provide necessary attendance interventions, including outreach to families regarding excused and unexcused absences.

      Responsibilities
