The Iowa Finance Authority is searching for an outstanding and motivated professional to join our Accounting Team as an Accountant for our Federal and State Programs.
The Accountant will safeguard assets of our programs and ensure that transactions are properly recorded. They provide analysis of financial results to management and stakeholders and work to provide outstanding customer service. This position will provide accounting services to our Federal and State program teams.
General duties: Accountants provide financial leadership for one or more of the agency’s major programs; safeguard the agency’s assets; prepare financial statements in accordance with Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) guidance; and assist program managers with analysis of financial results.
- Evaluate and maintain effective internal controls

- Support the agency’s annual independent audit

an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting thirty semester hours of graduate level course work in accounting, business administration or finance for each year of the required experience to a maximum substitution of sixty hours;
OR
Certified Public Accountants will qualify with eighteen months of the required experience;

employees with
current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to nine months of full-time work. as an Accountant 2.
