Job Description

- Performs various accounting duties pertaining to the application for and administration of awarded grants; prepares grant applications and grant amendments; reviews contracts for grants awarded to the Division.
- Prepares and implements schedules for grant administrative monitoring; maintains grant administration checklists; determines unit costs for grant services; prepares grant schedules, profiles, and subsidy vouchers; and prepares reports addressing grant funding, utilization, status, etc.; reconciles account receivables to grant agreements.
- Performs various accounting duties pertaining to the preparation, maintenance, and administration of the Division budget.
- Analyzes historical costs and projects' future financial needs; prepares the annual budget for the division; administers the approved budget; monitors expenditures; prepares budget reports; and prepares budget amendments as necessary.
- Performs Division accounts receivable functions; prepares accounts receivable invoices; prepares billings for client services; receives and reconciles payments; assigns payments to proper cost center; verifies posting of receivables; maintains accounts receivable records; and prepares bank deposits.
- Performs data entry for accounting operations and to verify accuracy; prepares various financial and accounting records and reports; analyzes historical costs and projects future financial needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is required.
- One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
- Candidates without a related degree should possess four (4) years of related experience.
- Fingerprinting required.
- Salary offers above the minimum pay grade may be considered based on qualifications.
- Essential Employees may be required to work during an undeclared or declared emergency. The County’s Administrative Office will determine who will be required to work on an incident-by-incident basis.

Work involves preparing budgetary, accounting, financial and statistical records; reviewing and analyzing financial transactions and identifying technical issues.
