Manage the City’s P-Card Program, including transaction review, approval workflows, and cardholder support.
Reconcile card transactions and ensure documentation aligns with City policies and accounting standards.
Import and verify P-Card data in the financial system and general ledger; prepare journal entries as needed.
Review P-Card statements for compliance and accuracy; assist departments with policy adherence.
Approve and update P-Card and travel card limits, and monitor usage for unauthorized or irregular activity.
Investigate declined or held transactions and coordinate with departments and banking representatives.
Serve as a resource and trainer to staff on proper P-Card use and related financial processes.
Perform periodic and year-end reconciliations for P-Cards and support related audits and reporting.
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders on financial processes and questions.
Support additional accounting functions and financial documentation as assigned.
Salary: $23.59 - $24.77/hour
13 paid holidays, plus accrued paid sick and vacation leave

Enrollment in the North Carolina State Pension Plan and NC State 401(k) with company matching funds
Four years of bookkeeping or accounting experience plus a High School Diploma or equivalent, OR
Two years of bookkeeping or accounting experience plus an Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Knowledge of accounting practices and principles; governmental or fund accounting knowledge is preferred.
Ability to maintain accurate financial records and prepare clear and accurate reports for auditing and operational use.
Strong attention to detail and ability to review and verify financial data for accuracy.
Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Effective communication skills to interact with coworkers, managers, and vendors professionally and accurately.
Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and online banking platforms.
Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Hybrid scheduling is available at Director's discretion.
