Job Description

- Perform assigned month-end closing tasks for the Credit Union and wholly owned CUSOs.
- Responsible for vendor management within Symitar & Concur.
- Responsible for preparation of the weekly FRB 2900 Report, quarterly NCUA 5300 Report, and other regulatory surveys and reports
- Perform lease accounting entries and reconciliation of applicable general ledger accounts to sub-ledger systems.
- Assist with loan participation accounting and reporting in the Credit Union, and reconciliation of applicable general ledger accounts to sub-ledger systems.
- Responsible for reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts including researching and determining the proper accounting treatment for aging items.
- Daily cash reconciliation and resulting general ledger postings and adjustments as needed.
- Perform all fixed asset accounting and reporting in the Credit Union and LLCs and reconciliation of applicable general ledger accounts to sub-ledger systems.
- Other duties as assigned, consistent with the temporary position.
- Three to five years of similar or related experience.
- One to three years working in the financial services industry.
- One to three years of direct experience using Jack Henry Symitar, Concur, and/or Paycom strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of nested functions, PivotTables, XLOOKUP, and managing large data sets to support efficient and accurate task completion.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related degree. A related field or a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions may be substituted.
- Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Purpose:
The Temporary Accountant I supports the maintenance of balance sheet and income statement accounts in accordance with GAAP by compiling, analyzing, and posting transactions during the normal course of business. This role is responsible for completing assigned month-end close tasks for the Credit Union and its wholly owned CUSOs, managing vendor records within Symitar and Concur, and preparing regulatory reports such as the FRB 2900 and NCUA 5300. Additional responsibilities include performing lease and fixed asset accounting, loan participation accounting, general ledger reconciliations, daily cash reconciliation, and supporting special projects as needed. The Temporary Accountant I is expected to maintain the quality service standards set by the organization and adhere to and enforce internal controls.
